The exhibit was portraying Papuan cultural heritage in the form of a satchel/bag that was weaved from grass, utilize for almost any purposes. The noken is a symbol of Papuan’s household having adult women as the caretakers, as the ones who take care of their field, food, kitchen, children, ultimately the family. Noken is a pride for Papuans, part of their identity, as each ethnic group in Papua has their own style and some having specific purposes that relates with life rites or statuses. This exhibit was held in Manokwari, West Papua, in December 2013.
